One hour.
Every Sunday.
A spark.
Eight lectures per season — each one an intimate, thoughtful hour on why languages shape who we are, why learning them is an act of radical empathy, and how every word connects us to the whole human story.
“Every language is a world. Learning one is choosing to live a little larger.”
A lecture series for the genuinely curious.
Not a course. Not a tutorial. Not a how-to. Language Spark is an hour of ideas — delivered live, recorded for your archive, designed for a Sunday morning when you have space to think.
Each season follows a thematic arc across eight lectures. You can join live and be part of the conversation, or watch the recording in your own time. Either way, you leave with something that stays with you.
This is the lecture series that should exist on every streaming platform but doesn’t — because nobody is making thoughtful, passionate, beautifully crafted talks about language, identity and human connection for a general audience.
Until now.
Language is identity
The language you speak shapes how you think, what you remember, and who you feel you are. These lectures explore that connection — and what it means to step into someone else’s linguistic world.
Speaking another language is an act of respect
When you try to speak someone’s language — even imperfectly — you are saying: your world matters to me. That simple act changes conversations, relationships, and whole careers.
Everything is connected
Languages share roots across millennia. Words travel between cultures, carrying history with them. Once you start seeing those threads, you cannot stop — and the whole world looks different.
Curiosity is the only prerequisite
No linguistic background required. No prior study. These lectures are for anyone who has ever wondered why we speak the way we do — and what we lose when languages disappear.
Four seasons. Thirty-two lectures.
One extraordinary year.
Each season is a self-contained series of eight lectures on a connected theme. Buy a single season or save with the annual pass. All lectures are recorded and available in your archive forever.

The ideas that will run through every season.
The man who stands in the square and speaks — and the crowd that gathers without being asked — understand something that algorithms never will: that a good idea, spoken with conviction, needs no advertising. — The philosophy behind Language Spark
This series is for the wistful, the curious, and the already convinced.
You don’t need to be a linguist, a polyglot, or even currently studying a language. You just need to find language interesting — which means you’re exactly right.
The wistful non-learner
You’ve always meant to learn Italian, Japanese, Arabic. Life got in the way. These lectures will remind you why that impulse was worth listening to — and give it back to you.
The culturally curious
You read, you travel, you pay attention. You find that the more you know about how language works, the more everything else makes sense — culture, history, politics, people.
The active language learner
You’re already studying. These lectures won’t teach you grammar — they’ll give you the intellectual context and the emotional fuel that makes the hours of practice feel completely worth it.
The writer or educator
Language is your medium and your obsession. A season of Language Spark is an annual investment in the ideas that inform everything you create and teach.
The Sunday morning person
You value the ritual of a slow, thoughtful morning. A lecture that makes you think differently about the world is exactly the kind of thing you’d choose to do with an hour that belongs entirely to you.
The globally minded professional
You work across cultures, lead international teams, or simply believe that understanding how language shapes identity makes you better at everything you do. This series makes that belief richer.
Everything you need to know before you buy.
Do I need to attend live?
Not at all. Every lecture is recorded and added to your personal archive within 24 hours. The live session is a bonus — a chance to be part of the moment as it happens. But the value is fully available on your own schedule.
What exactly is included in a season ticket?
Eight lectures, each approximately 60 minutes, delivered live via a private streaming link on consecutive Sundays (with a monthly break between seasons). All recordings are archived permanently in your account.
What language are the lectures in?
All lectures are delivered in English. The content, however, ranges freely across all languages and language families — this is about language in general, not English in particular.
Do I need any background in linguistics?
None whatsoever. These lectures are designed for curious general audiences — not students, not academics. If you’re interested in language as a human phenomenon, you’re exactly right for this series.
Can I buy a past season after it has aired?
Yes — past seasons remain available in the archive at €59 per season. Buying during the live run at €49 rewards those who join the conversation as it unfolds.
What’s the difference between one season and the annual pass?
One season is €49 for 8 lectures. The annual pass is €159 for all 32 lectures across all four seasons — saving you €37 and including priority Q&A access and season notes.
Will there be interaction or is it one-way?
Primarily one-way — a proper lecture, not a workshop. Selected sessions will include a short Q&A window. Annual pass holders have priority access to these. The Language Spark TikTok channel carries the wider conversation between episodes.
What time do the Sunday lectures air?
Timing is designed for a genuine Sunday morning experience — details confirmed on booking with consideration for multiple time zones. Recordings are always available within 24 hours for listeners in different parts of the world.
